CANCELLED 9th-12th Grade The Artists Studio Experience: Painting: Figures & Landscapes

Date
Monday, August 12, 2013Friday, August 16, 2013
Time
10:00 AM–04:15 PM

This event has been cancelled.

Together we will explore and become inspired by the many landscapes in and out of the museum. Observe and document the world around you while experimenting with different techniques and materials. Work together to create a life-size graphite world to walk through and create pieces to build your portfolio.  Meet local artists who push the boundaries of the medium and practice your critique skills.

Our Artist’s Studio Experience offers 6th-12th graders the opportunity to work with a local practicing artist from a specialized field of fine art. Participants will discover art techniques used throughout history and learn about art terms and artists specific to the week’s theme as they create their own works of art. Each week, participants will also see examples of the teaching artist’s portfolio, and have the
opportunity to converse about art careers, portfolio development, and the vast applications of art. Magnet school students may work toward completing summer art requirements, and all participants will work to build an art portfolio. A great summer experience for young artists!

For additional information or to register by phone, please call (410) 547-9000, ext. 300.
