Fall Forum Discussion: Egypt's Mysterious Book of the Faiyum

Join distinguished scholars as they explore topics related to the special exhibition Egypt’s Mysterious Book of the Faiyum, on view at the Walters Art Museum from October 6, 2013, until January 5, 2014. Speakers will reveal how archaeological, commercial, cultural and political events in the past continue to shaped the presentation of ancient Egyptian art in museums today. The audience is encouraged to participate in discussion.

Sponsored by the Boshell Foundation. This Gilded Age Talk celebrates the new installation, From Rye to Raphael: The Walters Story. A book signing follows. Copies will be available for purchase in the Walters’ Museum Store.
