Please join us for an evening gallery conversation with Dr. Eva Helfenstein, Mellon Fellow in Renaissance and Baroque Art at the Walters Art Museum, as she explores one of the most unusual pieces in the Cabinet of Wonders. The splendid rock crystal casket is a very rare example of late medieval court art still in existence today. The absence of directly comparable objects emphasizes the necessity of a close examination of the piece itself, with special attention to the materials and workmanship.
