Presented by the Walters and the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts, this exhibition will show the work of the finalists for the 2014 Janet & Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize. Artists will compete for top honors and a $25,000 fellowship in the Greater Baltimore area’s most prestigious arts competition.

Seeing Music in Medieval Manuscripts

Composed of approximately twenty manuscripts and objects, Seeing Music explores music in its relationship with philosophy, religion, and the arts during the Middle Ages, when musical harmony and dissonance were thought to mirror the perfection of heaven as well as the disorder of evil.

Before Care, from 8 a.m. - 9 a.m., allows families to drop off campers an hour early. Museum educators will play games with campers and lead them in drawing projects until all other campers arrive.

Make Night: Monoprints

Please join Elissa O’Loughlin, former senior paper conservator at the Walters and the National Archives, for an evening of hands-on making as we create monoprints. Make Night is a unique, dynamic museum program blending good wine and craft beer, great company, and fantastic art-making experiences led by local creative minds. Pre-registration required. Gallery Drawing Family Workshop: Contour and Continuous Drawing
