Andrew W. Mellon Curator in Charge of Medieval Art and Manuscripts.
Martina Bagnoli is the Andrew W. Mellon Curator in Charge of Medieval Art and Manuscripts at the Walters Art Museum. Bagnoli has previously held the position of Andrew W. Mellon Curator of Medieval Art at the Walters Art Museum (2008-2013), where she also served as Associate Curator in the Department of Rare Books and Manuscripts at the Walters Art Museum (2006–2008) and as Assistant Curator (2002–2006). Before joining the Walters, Bagnoli worked at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. (2001–2002). She received both her B.A. and M.A. from the University of Cambridge in England, and earned her Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. A specialist of Italian medieval art, Bagnoli has published extensively in her field.
Dr. Bagnoli is currently developing an exhibition on the five senses in Medieval Art scheduled for Fall 2016.
