Collect and curate your very own art collection inspired by our special exhibition, From Rye to Raphael: The Walters Story. Special guests will use music, puppetry, video, and storytelling to immerse you in the world of the Walters family! Visit our newly installed galleries to celebrate family traditions and Baltimore history!

Celebrate the holiday season and the annual lighting of the Washington Monument at the Walters during this free, family-friendly event! Enjoy seasonal performances, music, refreshments, holiday films, and special winter-inspired art activities for kids! At 7 p.m., the Washington Monument will be set aglow, followed by fireworks. Warm up at the Walters!

Collecting Histories and Collecting Mysteries: Great Art Collectors of America's Gilded Age

Inge Reist will bring alive the personalities of Gilded Age collectors as they formed some of America’s most dazzling and admired collections. Her talk will also explore their motivations and methods of acquisition, as well as their philanthropic legacies. Reist is Director of the Center for the History of Collecting at the Frick Collection and Frick Art Reference Library.
