Kevin Kallaugher, a.k.a. KAL, is known throughout the world as a political cartoonist on the front line of free expression. "Commanding a masterful style, Kallaugher stands among the premier caricaturists of the century," said The World Encyclopedia of Cartoons in 1999. This exhibition celebrated KAL's 17 years as editorial cartoonist at The Baltimore Sun and his 26 years at The Economist. KAL's renowned cartoons and caricatures, as well as his lesser-known works of sculpture, film, and 3-D animation, were on view. The exhibition featured cartoons illustrating local, national, and international political satire, and covered a broad range of social issues. An interactive gallery allowed visitors to see how KAL composes his caricatures and invited them to do the same.
