Homeschool Workshop: Exploring Art of the Ancient Americas Ages 10-12

Imagine exploring the hilly jungles of Mexico to discover the royal remains of the ancient Mayan civilization.  Students will analyze stone, clay and fiber artworks created by the diverse cultures from Northern Mexico to Chile, featured   in the special exhibition Exploring Art of the Ancient Americas: The John Bourne Collection Gift . Later, in the Walters’ studios, students will create their own work of art inspired by the art of Mesoamerica.   This event is recommended for children ages 5-12.

Explore the Walters through this workshop designed exclusively for homeschool students ages 5-12. Participants enjoy an introduction to the museum, a guided tour, studio activity and post-visit materials.
