Art of the Ancient Americas Community Night

Please join the Walters in acknowledging the contributions of ancient artists from Mesoamerica, Central America, and Andean South America whose artworks are part of Exploring Art of the Ancient Americas: The John Bourne Collection Gift. In conjunction with Latino community partners in Baltimore, explore the exhibition, enjoy the Spanish-language tours, light refreshments and bilingual information from local groups. The evening's events will highlight the beauty of the ancient art, the similarities and differences among cultures and languages, and the importance of conserving our past. The Art of Wealth: The Huntingtons in the Gilded Age

Bennett's book provides fresh insights into the lives, fortune, collecting, and philanthropy of three generations of California’s Huntington family during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Learn more about their phenomenal art acquisitions, which culminated in the founding of the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in southern California. Sponsored by the Boshell Foundation. This Gilded Age Talk celebrates the new installation, From Rye to Raphael: The Walters Story. A book signing follows. Copies will be available for purchase in the Walters’ Museum Store.
