Peer One is a video tour organized by artist Kari Altmann, using the museum’s new works of art website (http://art.thewalters.org/) as a starting point. A group of artists, curators, users and bloggers will respond with videos to objects in the museum’s permanent collection. Altmann invited people in her online filesharing network to participate, and encouraged them to place the museum’s objects into a contemporary informational, commercial and cultural context. The final videos are available as a tour of clips correlating with specific museum objects or galleries. The results range in form from experimental video art to critical audiovisual essays.
Participants include Aleksandra Domanovic, Safarinon (Brad Benedetti), Aude Pariset, Oliver Laric, United Nation (Patrick Dyer), Jamillah James, Irene Rincon Iriondo, Visual-aids.org, Garden Club (R-U-In?S.org), Andrew Norman Wilson, Kari Altmann, and others to be announced.

The tour is available for download at thewalters.org/exhibitions/peer-one/download/.
Visitors are invited to download the group of video files to their own handheld media device such as a video-enabled e-reader, smartphone, or tablet, and to take the Peer One tour through the galleries starting Jan. 21.
A limited quantity of handheld devices with preloaded video tours will also be available to check out at the front desk with an I.D.
Join us on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. for a public presentation in the Graham Auditorium, with a reception and light refreshments to follow.
