Benjamin Zucker talks about Silver

Date
Thursday, December 13, 2012
Time
07:30 PM–08:30 PM

Prominent collector and jewelry expert specializing in works made with pearls and precious colored stone, Benjamin Zucker will share his insight into the amazing collection of silver jewelry featured in the focus show “Diadem and Dagger.” Approximately 25 objects of Yemeni-Jewish silverwork are displayed in “Diadem and Dagger”  from the Zucker Family Trust and the Rosalee C. Davison collections. The rarely exhibited pieces dating to the 17th–19th century are inscribed in Hebrew and Arabic and reference the Muslim ruler and Jewish craftsman. By focusing on Islamic rings and gems, Zucker will explain the importance of these pieces to the Yemenite world, as well as to the Walters Art Museum.
