Walk-In Tour: Egypt's Mysterious Book of the Faiyum

Join us for a docent-led tour of the special exhibition at the Walters, Egypt's Mysterious Book of the FaiyumThis exhibition reunites fragments of an ancient Egyptian papyrus, now housed at three different museums across the globe, called the Book of the Faiyum. This papyrus portrays a local variant on the sun god’s story, in which the crocodile god Sobek plays the lead. A dazzling array of ancient Egyptian works—in gold, silver, granite, carnelian and more—will transport the intriguing characters of the Book of the Faiyum off the page and into three dimensions.

This tour is free with purchase of admission to the exhibition, or museum membership.
