Join us for a BONUS day of this weekend's Drop-in Art activities, just because we love our Walters' friends and families. Happy Holidays!  

No registration is required for these free activities. Drop-in, make and take a fantastic piece of art home with you! Join museum educators as they help families create artful projects related to the collection, special exhibitions and family programs. Check out our monthly themes and regular activities every Saturday and Sunday.

Recommended for ages 3 and up and their families.

Collecting Histories and Collecting Mysteries: Great Art Collectors of America's Gilded Age

Inge Reist will bring alive the personalities of Gilded Age collectors as they formed some of America’s most dazzling and admired collections. Her talk will also explore their motivations and methods of acquisition, as well as their philanthropic legacies. Reist is Director of the Center for the History of Collecting at the Frick Collection and Frick Art Reference Library.

This reinstallation of the permanent collection explores the lives, times, tastes, and legacy of William Walters and his son Henry Walters, whose private passion for art grew into a public mission to bring art to the people of Baltimore.
