ArtBabies Baby Program: Mummy Love

ArtBabies invites parents, grandparents, and caregivers with children birth to 12 months of age to bond, play and learn in the museum galleries during this 60 minute class. Each program includes activities for play and sensory exploration within our galleries and age-appropriate activities in the comfort of our private studio. Cooing and crying are welcome!

ArtBabies classes are for children ages birth to 12 months old only. Single strollers, tandem strollers and front-carrying baby carriers are permitted.

ArtBabies class size is limited to 10 children. One adult is required for every child. Pre-registration is mandatory.

In the event this program is sold out, please email family programs to be placed on the wait list.

Please note: Online pre-registration required. Fall 2013 (August-January) Program registration will be available in July: July 1 - Member registration begins; July 8 - Public registration begins. Museum members can register early for this popular series!

Like J.P. Morgan and other members of the Gilded Age elite, Henry Walters was an “omnivorous” collector of art. To mark the opening of From Rye to Raphael: The Walters Story, Walters curator Jo Briggs, Christine Nelson, Drue Heinz Curator of Literary and Historical Manuscripts at the Morgan Library and Museum, and John Ott, associate professor at James Madison University consider how discriminating purchasing cemented social relationships at the turn of the century.

Join us for a morning of accessible museum programming designed specifically for children with Sensory Processing Disorders and their entire family. Enjoy the collections of the Walters Art Museum during quiet, less stimulating hours. Tour selected galleries, participate in multiple hands-on stations that include tactile activities, visual supports, and interpretive materials, and create a work of art in the comfort of a private studio.
