Kimono Demonstration and Trunk Show

Please join Paul MacLardy, owner of Arise Bazaar and author of several books on the art of the kimono, for an enlightening afternoon on the Sculpture Court. This program will include a talk on the history of the kimono, including different styles and occasions for wearing kimono, as well as kimono dressing demonstrations and a trunk show. You won’t want to miss this special Mother’s Day weekend event.

Seeing Music in Medieval Manuscripts

This exhibition, composed of approximately twenty manuscripts and objects, will explore music in its relationship with philosophy, religion, and the arts during the Middle Ages. Musical harmony and dissonance were thought to mirror the perfection of heaven as well as the disorder of evil.
