ArtAccents Bilingual Tour: Artist/Artista

NEW! ArtAccents Bilingual Family Tours offer children 6-12 years old and their adult companions an opportunity to immerse themselves in art and language through interactive gallery tours led by educators who are fluent in Spanish and English.  Families will practice language together in a creative, arts-enriched environment in order to strengthen language acquisition and familiarity, critical thinking skills, and intergenerational learning. Tours will be led by bilingual museum educators who will guide participants through exploration, conversation, and discovery.
Art Accents is limited to 20 children. One adult chaperone is required for every two children.
Please include participating child's name and age when registering online.

In the event this program is sold out, please email family programs to be placed on the wait list.

Please note: Art Accents programs are $10 per member’s child, and $15 per non-member. Accompanying adults will enjoy free admission. Online pre-registration required.

Spring 2014 (February-May) Program registration will be available in January: January 9 - Member registration begins; January 16 - Public registration begins. Museum members can register early for this popular series! 


Acentos Artísticos, toures dirigidos por educadores bilingües para familias se ofrece por primera vez en el Museo de Arte Walters en el otoño 2013. Los niños entre los 6-12 años y sus acompañantes tendrán la oportunidad de practicar el Ingles y el Español a travez de un tour de nuestras galerias para fomentar la exploración, discusión y el descubrimiento del arte y de los idiomas. Las familias aprenderán juntas en un ambiente creativo mientras refuerzan los idiomas y los lazos familiares.

Esta serie se limita a 20 niños. Se requiere un/a acompañante adulto/a por cada dos niños. Por favor, incluye el nombre y la edad del estudiante cuando se registre por Internet.

Si el cupo esta lleno, por favor envíe un correo electrónico a family programs para ponerse en la lista de espera.

El costo de Acentos Artísticos es $10 por niño hijo/a de miembro y $15 por niño no miembro. El adulto acompañante disfrutará admisión gratuita.  Se requiere un pre-registro para este programa. 

Se puede registrar para los programas de la primavera 2014 (Febrero-Marzo) en Enero. Registración para miembros comienza el 9 de Enero; Registración para no miembros comienza el 16 de Enero. Los miembros del museo disfrutarán una fecha de registración anticipada para esta serie popular!

American Artists Abroad

Tourists, students, expatriates, cosmopolitans, and explorers, American artists traveled widely during the nineteenth century. This exhibition explores this theme and features work by Mary Cassatt, John Singer Sargent, and James McNeill Whistler, among others. It celebrates the completion of a grant-funded project, sponsored by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, to catalogue and photograph more than 600 American paintings, drawings, and miniatures.

Walk-In Tour: Designed for Flowers: Contemporary Japanese Ceramics

Take the opportunity to tour our spring exhibition with its curator, for only the price of an exhibition ticket (free for members)! A private collection of contemporary Japanese ceramics serves as the introduction to the traditional way of flower arranging, called “ikebana.” Works of art in different media from the permanent collection will add social and aesthetic context to the ceramics. Meet Dr. Robert Mintz in the Centre Street lobby for this installment of our Sunday walk-in tours.
