Walk, Wonder, and Create Tours: A Whale of a Tale (Afternoon Session)

Online pre-registration required. Recommended for ages 6-8. One guardian per two children required.

For ages 6-8, this once-a-month, 45-minute experience allows families to enjoy an interactive tour of the Walters collection, and then create artwork that relates to the theme of the tour. This month, dive into a world of underwater treasures. Swim with the fish, sway with the seaweed, and submerge yourself in art inspired by the ocean. Then, splash your way down into our studio to make your own aquatic-inspired artwork.

Collecting Histories and Collecting Mysteries: Great Art Collectors of America's Gilded Age

Inge Reist will bring alive the personalities of Gilded Age collectors as they formed some of America’s most dazzling and admired collections. Her talk will also explore their motivations and methods of acquisition, as well as their philanthropic legacies. Reist is Director of the Center for the History of Collecting at the Frick Collection and Frick Art Reference Library.
