Make Night continues on the third Thursday of the month with David Sloan, community artist and production manager for Wide Angle Youth Media. Learn the essentials of good composition, go into the galleries to explore and discuss what makes a compelling visual story, and then go on a scavenger hunt to find masterpieces to photograph for yourself. Bring your favorite camera; smart phones as cameras are welcome. Register online for this event.

The Art of Wealth: The Huntingtons in the Gilded Age

Bennett's book provides fresh insights into the lives, fortune, collecting, and philanthropy of three generations of California’s Huntington family during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Learn more about their phenomenal art acquisitions, which culminated in the founding of the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in southern California. Sponsored by the Boshell Foundation. This Gilded Age Talk celebrates the new installation, From Rye to Raphael: The Walters Story. A book signing follows. Copies will be available for purchase in the Walters’ Museum Store.
