Members Tour - Putting Names to Faces: Stories from the portrait miniature collection

For members and their guests. No registration necessary.

Members have the opportunity to join a Walters' expert for an intimate tour. This month's tour will be led by Jo Briggs, Assistant Curator of 18th- and 19th- Century Art, and Meg Craft, Head of Object Conservation. Join them to explore the Walters' portrait miniature collection, and learn about the subjects of these works.

American Artists Abroad

Tourists, students, expatriates, cosmopolitans, and explorers, American artists traveled widely during the nineteenth century. This exhibition explores this theme and features work by Mary Cassatt, John Singer Sargent, and James McNeill Whistler, among others. It celebrates the completion of a grant-funded project, sponsored by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, to catalogue and photograph more than 600 American paintings, drawings, and miniatures.
