Firm Roots featuring Brad Collins
Doors open at 6 P.M.

Experience the hybrid of jazz, blues, funk, and R&B inspired by the traditions of organic American music interpreted by Brad Collins, one of Baltimore's favorite saxophone players, Benie Porecki on organ, and Mark Prince on drums. Collectively, members of the Firm Roots have performed with a multitude of artists including Santana, Chaka Kahn, Buddy Guy, Pieces of a Dream, Steve Cole, and others. In 2013, the trio released their recording Firm Roots Live at Blues Alley, which received rave reviews.

Craft beer and wine will be on sale, and the Walters Museum Store will be open with special discounts for concert attendees.

Seeing Music in Medieval Manuscripts

This exhibition, composed of approximately twenty manuscripts and objects, will explore music in its relationship with philosophy, religion, and the arts during the Middle Ages. Musical harmony and dissonance were thought to mirror the perfection of heaven as well as the disorder of evil.
