Family Festivals at the Walters Art Museum
Several times a year the Walters hosts museum-wide family festivals. Please join us on these special days and enjoy amazing performances, make your own works of art, discover the new installation for free, and much more! All ages welcome.

Visitors of all ages will be immersed in the medieval culture through hands-on art-making, cultural performances, storytelling, artist demonstrations, gallery scavenger hunts, and special appearances by our adored mascot, Waltee.

Join us for our community celebration of Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. The museum will be observing this cultural and religious holiday with traditional folk dance performances by Bailes de Mi Tierra, art-making activities, and a community altar created by local artist Edgar Reyes.

Celebrate the holiday season and the annual lighting of the Washington Monument during this free, family-friendly event. Enjoy seasonal performances, music, refreshments, and winter-inspired art activities. Later, watch as the Washington Monument is set aglow, followed by a spectacular fireworks display and laser show.
