Patron Event

Prior to the official opening, experience a private look at one of the special exhibitions the Walters brings to Baltimore.

Curators' Choice Reception

The Curators' Choice reception is a special evening of in-depth discussions by curators of their current projects. The evening commences with cocktails in the Sculpture Court. Subjects of past tours include "A Look in the Lab: Projects in Conservation," "Ancient Portraits: Ancient or Real," and "Renaissance Gems and Jewels."

Directors Dinner

Every June, join our International Board at a dinner in the Sculpture Court and hear programs about topical museum issues from a director of a nationally prominent museum. In 2005, Glenn Lowry of the Museum of Modern Art spoke about the important renovations and changes to this New York institution. On June 13, our special guest will be James Cuno of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Collector's Circle Seminar Series

Four evenings of the year, be part of an intimate group and experience an in-depth seminar by our curators and conservators in the original Walters family parlor Many of the objects being discussed will be available for observation. Previous topics include "Reading Between the Lines: The Archimedes Palimpsest" and "Relic, Ornament and Display in Medieval Reliquaries." There will be a tour of a private collection one evening a year.

Director's Travel Program

This is an annual opportunity to join our director and an intimate group for an in-depth tour of some of the worlds most vibrant cities and private access to the world's finest art collections. Previous locales include Sicily, Berlin and St. Petersburg and the Golden Ring Cities.
