The Walters Art Museum

Special Interest Groups

Many Walters members choose to become involved in the museum through one of the special interest groups. These groups provide a unique and specialized way to give back to the Walters.

Friends of the Asian Collection

Members of the Friends of the Asian Collection share a common interest in the enrichment and study of the collection of Asian Art at the Walters Art Museum. When you join the Friends of the Asian Collection, you help in the Walters’ efforts to preserve and showcase its stunning and diverse Asian holdings, ranging from Japanese, KoreanChinese, and Southeast Asian art to the arts of India, Nepal, and Tibet. Membership provides exciting and unique programming, including lectures and visits to private and public collections.

Museum members of all levels are eligible to join. Membership in the Friends of the Asian Collection is $100 for an individual or $150 annually for a joint membership. Join today, or contact for more information.

The William T. Walters Association

An enthusiastic and tireless group of volunteers, the William T. Walters Association is dedicated to helping the Walters raise funds for the Annual Giving Campaign. They are pivotal to the success of the museum. In fiscal year 2012, the William T. Walters Association, helped raise more than $1.8 million. Not only do they assist with the Annual Giving Campaign, they serve as museum ambassadors, carrying the message about our mission and helping to raise funds for on-going exhibitions and programs. Many thanks to this dedicated group that works so hard to help the Walters maintain its stature as a world-class institution and cornerstone of the Baltimore community.

The Womens Committee of the Walters Art Museum

The Women's Committee supports and promotes the Walters Art Museum and its mission. Its purpose is to create goodwill for the museum by introducing the museum to a wider audience and by supporting programs, activities and projects that enhance the museum experience. In continuing the tradition of its founding in 1963, the committee seeks a strong commitment from all its members as well as continued support for its Education Fund, the Flower Fund and select museum exhibitions and lectures. The creation of the mosaic map on the Level 2 Lobby was made possible through a generous gift from the Women's Committee of the Walters Art Museum.
