WHAT: Asian Spring Family Festival
Come celebrate the colors, sights, and sounds of Asia. Connect with China, India, and Japan through costumes, music, dance, and storytelling from these far-away lands! Create artwork inspired by ancient traditions and learn amazing techniques from local artists.
Special Performances:
11:00 a.m., Spilling Ink performing Katha: Tales from India
1:00 p.m., Hua Sha Chinese Dance Center performing Traditional Chinese Dances
3:00 p.m., Grand Finale: Taikoza, performing Japanese Drumming
10:00–4 p.m., Art Activities: Indian & Tibetan inspired Sand Paintings, Chinese inspired Scrolls & Brush Painting
Special guests throughout the day:
Shizumi, providing hands-on demonstrations of Japanese origami and costume
Stephen Parlato, providing demonstrations from his book, Dragons Love
