Celebrate African American heritage as we travel through time, trek across the globe, and discover how we are all connected

WHAT: Free African American Family Festival
Celebrate African American heritage as we travel through time, trek across the globe and discover how we are all connected to families around the world! Play with a giant map, work together on collaborative art projects and create your own African-inspired masterpiece. Explore all corners of Africa with stories told by East and West African storytellers, dance along during a South African performance and get swept awayin a very special grand finale presentation of The Pulse of Africa.

11 a.m. - Ssuuna, performing Mujje: Come Together
12 p.m. - Lesole's Dance Project performing Zulu, Gumboot, and Street
1   p.m. - Bunjo Butler performing BLACK OUT LOUD: The African Oral Tradition
4   p.m. - GRAND FINALE: The Pulse of Africa: Back by popular demand, the dancers and musicians from D.C.-based Baile's African Drum Works offer an authentic, exciting celebration of traditional West African folklore.
