Lunch & Learn: The 19th-Century Sketch: Its Role and Audience

WHAT: Lunch & Learn: The 19th-Century Sketch: Its  Role and Audience
Michelle Hagewood, Artist, Walters Senior Coordinator of Family Programs
How did Delacroix, Dore and Gerome use drawings in their practices? What does the sketch reveal and when is it “complete?” Hagewood explores the varied roles of sketching tied to the Walters’ recently-acquired Joseph F. McCrindle Foundation drawings, exploring them as both an artist and an educator. Hagewood is also currently a Creative Alliance studio artist.
This event is part of our regular "Lunch & Learn" series. Join us on the first Thursday of each month. Bring your light lunch to the Walters’ Graham Auditorium and hear lectures on a wide range of topics.

WHERE: The Walters Art Museum, Graham Auditorium
WHEN: Thursday, June 3, 12:15–1:15 p.m.
