Baltimore— The BMA Shop and the Walters Museum Store and are joining forces, inviting the public to come support the arts and local retail stores on Saturday, Nov. 24 for “Small Business Saturday”. The museums will host a joint promotional event, encouraging shoppers to consider museum stores as options while shopping for the holidays. By promoting both shops, the BMA and the Walters hope to raise awareness about the importance of shopping locally, presenting their stores as “mall alternatives” where patrons can find unique, one-of-a-kind gifts while supporting small businesses and the arts.
Both stores will offer rewards and promotions for guests who visit on Nov. 24. For example, any visitor who becomes a member of either musem that day or buys a gift membership will receive 20% off their purchases. Featuring everything from posters and prints of well-known works in their collections to jewelry inspired by art, both the BMA Shop and the Walters Museum Store have original gifts for lovers of the arts. All purchases made on Nov. 24 will help to support the museums and their educational programs. This promotional event will be the first of several joint efforts by the museum stores, who aim to increase membership and shoppers.
