Art Educators at The Walters Museum

Emily Blumenthal, Manager of Family Programs

Emily has worked with family audiences at the Walters since 2003. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art and her Masters of Science in Leadership in Museum Education from the Bank Street College of Education. As an artist and educator, Emily works to engage families and children of all ages with works of art. Her favorite painting in the Walters’ collection is Hope.

Michelle Hagewood, Senior Coordinator of Family Programs

Michelle has been with the Walters since 2004.  During that time, she has been committed to making art and museum experiences a relevant part of daily life for children and adults in the greater Baltimore community. Michelle received her BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art and her MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Michelle’s favorite work of art in the collection is Panorama with the Abduction of Helen amidst the Wonders of the Ancient World.

Lauren Roszak, Coordinator of Family Programs

Lauren has been with the Walters since 2007 and has worked in museums with children since 1999.  Lauren received her Bachelor of Arts from Radford University and is currently working on her Masters Degree.  Lauren has loved museums since she was very young and strives to share that excitement and love with children who come to the Walters.  Her favorite painting in the collection is Figaro’s Shop.
