Scouting Programs
Calling all Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts! The Walters Art Museum invites Scouts of all ages to learn about the wonderful world of art while earning merit badges. This interactive, two-hour program includes:
- Guided tour of selected artworks by a trained educator
- Hands-on art activity based on specific badge and belt loop/pin guidelines
- Specially designed Walters participatory patch
Price: $10 per Girl Scout; $11.75 per Cub Scout; no charge for adult chaperones.

Girl Scout Museum Days: Flutter and Bloom
Stroll through a garden of artistic delights this spring at the Walters! Scouts will meander through a special exhibition of Japanese art and explore nature in Asian art. Let the beauty of the season inspire your very own work of art during a hands-on studio activity. Brownies will work toward their Color and Shape badge and Junior Girl Scouts will work toward their Art in the Home or Visual Arts badge during this interactive, two-hour program!
Cub Scout Museum Day: Secrets of the Samurai
Discover the secret code of the samurai! This interactive, two-hour program allows Cub Scouts to earn their Art Academics pin or belt loop while exploring the fascinating lives of samurai warriors. Spend time with fellow fierce Cub Scouts on an adventure through the Walters’ collection of samurai arms and armor during this special guided tour. Then, make your own samurai inspired art in the studio to take home!

Private Scout Workshops
You may also contact the museum to schedule private workshops for your group (minimum of 10 scouts) focusing on Brownie/Junior Girl Scout or Cub Scout themes such as:
