Ayla Amon received her MA in Museum Studies from George Washington University, specializing in Exhibitions Development and Middle Eastern Studies. She also has a BA from the University of Chicago, where she focused on Islamic Art and Architecture. Her recent work focuses mainly on museums and community development in the Middle East, where she has worked and researched for the past five years. She also has a strong interest in using art to foster cross-cultural communication between museum visitors and other cultures around the world. Her focus at the Walters will be developing interpretive strategies and educational materials for an upcoming exhibition focusing on the human element in Islamic Art.
