Eva Helfenstein

Eva Helfenstein received her PhD from Harvard University with a dissertation on precious vessels at the Court of Burgundy. She is interested in objects and materials, with a focus on the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Her main projects at the Walters include a study on the museum’s late medieval rock crystal casket (57.695) as well as a larger research project on the development of painted enamel during the fifteenth century. Together with Dr. Spicer, she is working on a website/publication on the Walters’ Chamber of Wonders and on the reinstallation of the Knight’s Hall.
