Egyptian Cat Earrings

These fun and simple cat earrings are great way to accessorize. Cats were considered sacred in ancient Egypt. They represented Bastet, the cat-headed goddess of Bubastis, a city in Lower Egypt. Bastet came to be associated with the preserving power of the sun and the protection of women. This piece is a reproduction of a faience amulet circa 800 B.C. These earrings are gold-plated and hang approximately 1 ¼ inches long.
