SupportThe Walters Art Museum was founded in what has been called the greatest single act of cultural philanthropy in our nation's history. In 1931, Henry Walters donated 22,000 works of art he and his father had collected, his family home and gallery, and a modest endowment to the city of Baltimore "for the benefit of the public." Since Henry Walters' bequest, thousands of people have joined the Walters family of friends and donors to help bring art and people together for enjoyment, discovery and learning to the Baltimore community today and for future generations. There are many ways to join the Walters and show your support: |
