Values, Vision, and Planning Creative Ways to Give to the Walters Art Museum
Are you looking for a creative way to make a gift to the Walters Art Museum?
Since you’re visiting the Planned Giving section of our website, you likely have an interest in supporting our mission of bringing people and art together for enjoyment, discovery, and learning. Whether you’re ready to make a gift now, or you would like to explore the creative possibilities of deferred gifts, I’m here to help you accomplish your charitable goals.
My name is Robert Vosburgh, and I am the Planned Giving Officer at the Walters Art Museum. I am a lawyer, but I’ve also earned a graduate degree in Medieval Studies, worked in the Education Department of a museum devoted to the art and architecture of the middle ages, and served as the Executive Director of an historic house museum. I share your passion for the arts, and value the role that museums play in our community.
As it has for you, art has played an important role in my life. I believe that art allows us to glimpse the world through the eyes others, that it can transport us in time and place, and that it can call us to reflect on what we value most. My passion is medieval art, which may or may not have the same effect on you as it does me, but somewhere in this collection you have found inspiration.
I joined the Walters in the autumn of 2006, and I’m looking forward to working together with you to ensure the vitality of this extraordinary place for generations to come! Please call me at 410-547-9000, ext. 216 or email rvosburgh@thewalters.org.

Join the Walters Legacy Society
In 1931, Henry Walters gave his entire art collection to the City of Baltimore. Now, seventy-six years later, the Walters Art Museum has expanded the powerful vision of Mr. Walters by providing unlimited free admission for the benefit of our community.
The Walters’ free admission policy eliminates what was a significant financial barrier for many people. Since “going free” the number of people visiting the galleries has increased by more than 40% compared to previous years. During the same period, we have seen participation in weekend family art activities increase by 300%!
When you join us by naming the Walters Art Museum as a beneficiary of your estate plan, you are inextricably linking your legacy to the efforts of so many others who share your values, your vision, and your passion. The Walters Legacy Society recognizes supporters of the Walters Art Museum who have included the museum in their wills or estate plans. By becoming a member of the Legacy Society, you will receive the bi-annual Legacy Society Newsletter, and be invited to special programs at the Walters.
