This two-day workshop begins with a behind-the-scenes tour of the museum’s paper conservation laboratory. Instructor Ben Iluzada of 2 Step Press will then instruct attendees in the practice of Japanese papermaking, or nagashizuki, using traditional plant fibers to create their own finished paper. Participants are encouraged to register for the December workshop on Japanese woodblock printing where they can use their paper from this session.
