What did the ancient Romans eat and what were their banquets like? In the bi-annual Boshell Lecture, experimental Archaeologist Farrell Monaco will discuss the cultural and social practices associated with Roman dining, from the most luxurious villas in Pompeii to roadside food stands, and how modern food historians attempt to recreate ancient recipes. The lecture will be followed by a public reception.

This program is generously funded by the Boshell Foundation.
