Pop and electronic artist Pangelica will explore our emotional attachments to inanimate objects and the hidden sacrifice of luxury in the museum’s Treasury, while jazz bassist Jeron White and Polarity will create a multi-textured score that reflects the pluralism of cultures and beliefs represented in the Walters’ Icons gallery, which houses Jewish, Ethiopian Christian, and Eastern Orthodox objects.

ART/SOUND/NOW: Jimmy Joe Roche and Raw Silk with Jonna McKone

Date: Thursday, August 24, 2017

Time: 07:00 PM–08:30 PM

In the third and final installment of this year’s series electronic artist Jimmy Joe Roche will highlight the connections between mysticism, religion, and music, focusing on humans as imperfect resonate chambers, in the museum’s Baroque galleries. The violin and sitar of Raw Silk will team up with Jonna McKone to investigate the fraught nature of museum displays by attempting to bridge space and time with a combination of analog and digital sounds in the Walters’ Ancient Greek galleries.
