Art Methods Series: Ceramics

This workshop is designed exclusively for homeschool students ages 5–6. Participants enjoy an introduction to the museum, a guided tour, studio activity, and post-visit materials.

Students will visit the Baltimore Museum of Industry and utilize critical thinking skills and creativity to create and test a game of their own, then students learn about the engineering design process to build and test their own roller coaster.

Learn how to think like an artist while experimenting with different mediums through observation, dialogue, and practice in the Walters’ galleries and studios. During this monthly workshop, work with instructors during a single session to learn basic skills, or attend multiple sessions to develop expertise.

Students will visit the Baltimore Museum of Industry (BMI) and time travel to an early 20th-century Baltimore neighborhood to become workers of the past as they take an interactive tour through the galleries.  Students will construct a neighborhood by creating and coloring paper models of houses, trains, and shops.
