Gallery Talk: The World on Sale: 50 Years of Shopping at World

Join Jo Briggs, Assistant Curator of 18th- and 19th-Century Art, for an intimate gallery talk on the collecting habits of William and Henry Walters at World’s Fairs. Through objects on view in From Rye to Raphael: The Walters Story, including spectacular jewelry by Tiffany and Lalique, visitors will learn about the cultural and artistic significance of these international exhibitions. For half a century, World’s Fairs on both sides of the Atlantic shaped the founders’ tastes and buying habits.
