What is a siren? Why did the ancient Egyptians make mummies? Who was the strongest hero in the ancient world? In this mythology workshop, students discover the narrative belief systems of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, and Rome. Students identify the visual attributes of mythological characters in ancient works of art and apply their new knowledge to create their own works of art in the studio.
Explore the Walters through this workshop designed exclusively for homeschool students aged 10-12. Participants enjoy an introduction to the museum, a guided tour, studio activity, and post-visit materials.
