What role does science play in our understanding of art objects, and how is it being integrated into the museum experience? How can scientific results be successfully translated for the public, and what are the challenges in taking on this type of translation? Join us for a lively panel discussion about some of the important overlaps between art and science. The program will feature moderator Francesca Bewer, Research Curator at the Harvard Art Museums’ Straus Center for Conservation and Technical Studies; Susan Roberts-Manganelli, Director of the Art and Science Learning Lab at Stanford University; and Walters senior staff from the education, curatorial, and conservation departments as panelists.
This program is made possible by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
