Marvel at Minimalism, get excited over Expressionism and delve into Dada! In celebration of hosting the special Janet and Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize exhibition this July, we will look toward the art stars of the 20th century for our inspiration. Add color, subtract graphite and stack paint to create your own gallery-worthy work!
Date: Monday, July 8, 2013–Friday, July 12, 2013
Time: 09:00 AM–04:15 PM
Travel back to a moment in history! Each day, we will explore a different time and place, experiencing what life was like for children long ago and far away. Trek the globe while filling sketchbooks with drawings of special objects we find along the way. Create their clothing, make their music and read their stories to discover just how similar we all are. At the end of the week, join us as we act out scenes from the past!
Time: 09:00 AM–12:30 PM
Every day campers will open their mailboxes to discover secrets and stories from the past! Spend each day in a different gallery collecting clues from ancient Greece, Egypt, India and beyond! Using our imaginations, we will create artwork with exotic materials inspired by the people, stories, and cultures we find around the world. At the end of the week, families are invited to hop into our time machine to share our discoveries!
Date: Monday, July 8, 2013–Wednesday, July 10, 2013
