The Walters Art Museum is pleased to offer opportunities for qualified undergraduate and graduate candidates to intern in various museum divisions throughout the year. Based on a system of supervised learning, the internships enable interns to understand how a museum operates and how to relate this experience to academic and professional goals. Credit can be arranged with your college/university.

Archives Intern

The Archives Intern will gain practical experience in the archives field, including collection management, archival processing and reference work.  Internship will culminate in the creation of an EAD compliant finding aid using ArchivesSpace software.

Requirements:

  • Current MLS student or recent graduate of a MLS accredited program, archives track preferred. Preference given to students with art history coursework.
  • Excellent computer and writing skills.
  • Detail oriented
  • Self-starter: ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must be able to work internship during hours of Mon – Fri, 9am – 5 pm
