Based on a system of supervised learning, the internships enable interns to understand how a museum operates and how to relate this experience to academic and professional goals. Credit can be arranged with your college/university.

Collections Management Intern

Working closely and collaboratively with the Collections and Curatorial Department, the Collections Management Intern will develop solid collections management skills and experience by performing data entry in the museum’s collection management system (TMS).  They will learn database principles; explore best practices in object cataloguing and structured information. They will learn principles of managing collection storage and the handling and movement of objects; increasing the quantity and quality of records in the Walters’ online catalogue and assist in digitizing historic documentation.

Requirements:

Majoring in Museum Studies, Art History, History or Library Science.
