ArtBabies Program for 0-12 Month-Olds

$10 member's child/$15 non-member's child
ArtBabies invites parents, grantparents, and caregivers with children birth to 12 months of age to bond, play, and learn in the museum galleries during this 60 minute class. Each program includes activities for play and sensory exploration within our galleries and age-appropriate activities in the comfort of our private studio.
ArtBabies classes are for children ages birth to 12 months old only. Single strollers, tandem strollers and front-carrying baby carriers are permitted.
ArtBabies classes are held from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
ArtBabies class size is limited to 10 children. One adult is required for every child. Pre-registration is mandatory.


ArtCubs Program for 13-23 Month-Olds

$10 member's child/$15 non-member's child
ArtCubs invites parents, grandparents, and caregivers with children 13-23 months of age to sing and sway in the museum galleries during this 60 minute class. Each program includes activities that strengthen rhythm and movement within our galleries and age-appropriate activities in the comfort of our private studio. Wobbling and waltzing are welcome!
ArtCubs classes are for children ages 13-23 months old only.
ArtCubs classes are held from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
ArtCubs class size is limited to 10 children. One adult is required for every child. Pre-registration is mandatory.


ArtTots Program for 2-3 Year-Olds

Start with ArtTots, our early childhood museum program designed just for 2-3 year olds and their favorite adult! Each ArtTots class will introduce toddlers to art and the museum through age-appropriate short stories, gallery play activities, and an art activity. Toddler workshops last one hour and are led by specially trained museum educators.
ArtTots classes are for children ages 2-3 only.
ArtTots classes are held from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.
ArtTots class size is limited to 12 children. One adult chaperone is required for every two children. Pre-registration is mandatory.


ArtKids Preschool for 3-5 Year-Olds

Learning is fun at the Walters for children 3-5 years old and their favorite adult! You and your child will use all of your senses during this 90-minute, hands-on experience that combines a story chosen for its theme, a short tour, and an art activity. Preschool workshops last 90 minutes and are led by specially trained museum educators.
ArtKids classes are for children ages 3-5 only.
ArtKids classes are held from 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
ArtKids class size is limited to 15 children. One adult chaperone is required for every two children. Pre-registration is mandatory.

In an ongoing commitment to enhancing school readiness, the Walters Art Museum is a cultural partner site for Countdown to Kindergarten, Baltimore City, a statewide campaign in support of early childhood learning. For more information visit www.countdownMD.com.

Programs for Preschools, Daycare Centers, and Childcare Providers
The Walters offers preschool art workshops as described above for preschools, daycare centers, and childcare providers. The museum also offers adult training sessions for childcare professionals on "Museum Fun for Young Ones." Early childhood providers may call 410-547-9000, ext. 325 or email family programs to schedule a group visit or training.
