Free African American Family Festival at the Walters, 2/25

What: Free African American Family Festival: Carnivale of Cultures

Celebrate the African influence on cultures from Cuba to Brazil and beyond. Join us as we explore the rich diversity of art, music and culture of African Latin Americans. Learn about poets, artists and heroes of Latin American and African American history. Discover local Afro-Latin communities. Create your own colorful artwork, learn a few new dance steps and be amazed by exciting performances all day. Visit the special exhibition, Exploring Art of the Ancient Americas: The John Bourne Collection Gift, for FREE today

Schedule of Performances:
11 a.m. Madre Africa performing The African Heritage in Latin America
12 p.m. Alberto Limonta Perez performing Conga & Rumba
1 p.m.  Roda Movements presenting Capoiera for Kids!
2 p.m.  Baba Jamal Koram presenting African Stories in the Americas
3 p.m.  GRAND FINALE: Timbason la Original performing A Trip to Cuba
