
Limited Time Discounted Parking
The Parking Authority of Baltimore City, in conjunction with the Historic Charles Street Association and other local organizations, will offer discounted parking two blocks from the Walters Art Museum through July 31, 2008. There are 300 spots in the indoor Franklin Street Garage, which is open until midnight. In an effort to bring more visitors to Charles Street, this program will offer discounted parking on evenings after 4 p.m. and on weekends at the Franklin Street Garage with a coupon available at the Walters’ Centre Street entrance and other local businesses. ParkingA staffed parking lot is conveniently located across the street from the museum at Centre and Cathedral streets. Museum visitors are eligible for reduced rates so stop by the Visitor Information Desk to get your ticket stamped. Other nearby parking lots include the Peabody Garage at Centre and St. Paul streets, the Franklin Street Garage on West Franklin Street between Charles and Cathedral, and an open lot between West Franklin Street and Centre Street near Park Avenue. The Peabody Court Hotel at the corner of Cathedral and Monument streets offers valet parking. Metered parking is also available in the neighborhood.

The Walters is located at 600 North Charles Street in Baltimore's historic Mt. Vernon Cultural District, about one mile north of the Inner Harbor and downtown business district. It is conveniently located near MTA bus lines (Nos. 3, 11, 31, 61, and 64) and the Centre Street Light Rail stop. The main entrance is located on Centre Street near the corner of Centre and Cathedral streets. From points north of Baltimore (Philadelphia, New York):Take I-95 south through the Fort McHenry Tunnel. Take exit 53 (I-395) north which is Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Once on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., continue to Druid Hill Avenue. Turn right onto Druid Hill Avenue. Druid Hill Avenue becomes Centre Street. Proceed on Centre Street to Cathedral Street. The Walters Art Museum will be on the left.The public entrance to the museum is located on Centre Street, near the corner of Centre and Cathedral streets. From points south of Baltimore (Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia):Follow I-95 north to exit 53 (I-395) which is Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Once on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., continue to Druid Hill Avenue.
