In conjunction with the special exhibition, Gee’s Bend: The Architecture of the Quilt the Walters will feature Linda Day Clark: The Gee’s Bend Photographs, a stunning exhibition of 25 photographs by Baltimore resident, Linda Day Clark. This series has evolved over the past six years, and includes portraits, architecture, and a sensitive look at the surroundings that have inspired the works of the quilters.
Day Clark is a nationally-known artist who uses her camera as a vehicle for change. In her work, she aims to touch inform, and create relationships between her subjects and the viewer. Also a community advocate, scholar, and educator, Day Clark is currently a professor at Coppin State University, who has formerly served on the faculty of the Maryland Institute College of Art, and on the education staff of the Baltimore Museum of Art.
