Sketching Sessions

A visitor sketches in a gallery

This month we’re drawing in the Medieval World galleries with instructor Rokhsareh Alvandi. An instructor is available to help develop your sketching skills—whether you’re a beginner, student, or practicing artist of any age. Live music by Peabody Institute students enlivens the spaces and keeps the creativity flowing. Just bring your interest in drawing and we will provide the materials!

About the Instructor

Rokhsareh Alvandi is an interdisciplinary artist and educator whose work draws on her professional background in the restoration of antique carpets, hand-woven Iranian textiles, and miniatures. She investigates the intersections of trauma, memory, and the human body. Alvandi is an MFA candidate in the Intermedia and Digital Arts program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County where she serves as a Graduate Assistant. Her perspective is shaped by a multicultural background and a deep commitment to arts accessibility. Her work seeks to bridge the gap between historical preservation and contemporary digital discourse, inviting audiences to engage with the human experience through tactile and symbolic remains.
