Accompanying the special exhibition Pearls on a String, this film uses equal parts drama and comedy to explore Indian cultural identity as it plays out in modern Western society (1992, NR, 106 mins.). Before the film, UMBC professor Preminda Jacobs will present a talk on the once vibrant tradition of hand-painted film posters from Chennai, India.
